Toning up
With dedication pretty much everybody can get a toned body with a flat stomach
and defined arm muscles. The amount of training you need to do depends on you, the
individual of course but, generally it's about three resistance sessions and three cardio
sessions a week. However without the right motivation you'll probably give up
before you get the result you want.
To help you stay motivated Women's Workout makes your exercise fun. Our staff
don't instruct they motivate and we don't use TV or scripted classes instead we
rely on the personal touch to help and guide you.
Resistance training is vital to develop the muscles that provide the sculptured
definition. Your training programme needs to work all muscle groups - in the
right proportion. For example training just the abdominals without working the
corresponding back muscles will lead to muscular skeletal problems and possibly
injury besides looking a bit lopsided.
Sadly it's also no use having perfect muscle tone, if its hidden under layers of
fat! So to manage your body fat you will also need cardio exercise.
You can't lose fat if your lifestle causes you to eat too much. We pride
ourselves on helping members make small changes to their eating and way of
living by bring the latest research and lifestyles tips to their attention.
So how can the Women's Workout fun exercise programme help you?
First, we combine the cardio and resistance exercises in one 30 minute exercise
programme. This means you now have enough time to get the results your are
looking for.
Secondly, our gym programme is based on easy to use resistance machines that
work all of the major muscle groups in an scientifically balanced exercise
programme. Which includes working all the opposing muscles correctly. This means
you don't need to worry about getting the right workout. Also you won't be
tempted to skip machines as someone is hogging them – using a circuit format
guarantees the next machine is always available.
Thirdly, all our machines automatically adjust to your fitness level - all you
need do is work them to your maximum. So no more worries about hurting your self
by increasing weights.
Celebrities such as Cindy Crawford use a technique called super setting, where
opposing muscle groups (eg Bicep and Tricep) are worked in succession without a
rest. Women's Workout resistance machines do this automatically with their
double concentric movement. The other benefit of double concentric movement is
that the part of weight training that causes bulky muscles and soreness –
eccentric movement is almost completely eliminated.
Finally, you don't need to wait for a new program every 8-12 weeks, we change
our circuit every week to stop you plateauing and to keep you motivated.

A concentric contraction is a type of muscle contraction in which the muscles
shorten while generating force. The opposite (eccentric) is when a muscle
elongates and opposes a force. For example when doing an arm curl, the bicep
muscle contracts when raising a weight, but in the act of lowering a weight it
resists the force of gravity. The eccentric movement causes a lot of
breakdown in the muscle resulting in soreness and greater bulk.
Women's Workout equipment has been designed for Women. And so this eccentric
movment is mostly eliminated with most machines having a Double Concentric
movment.
