Just 30 minutes
We are often asked -
how do you get all these great results in such a short time in a gym? The answer
is by keeping it simple, using the best principles of sports science and great
equipment designed especially for women.
The Women's Workout
programme is based on circuit training concepts. This is where different
activities are undertaken for a short time (between 30 and 60 seconds) period
known as an interval.
Our circuit consists
of fluid resistance machines inter spaced with aerobic resting stations with
members moving from station to station on a voice cue. Fluid interval training
machines require no biomechanical adjustments, and because of the fluid
resistance will automatically adjust to your fitness level. This eliminates time
wasted waiting for a machine or programming keypads or looking at little cards
to find out what setting you need for this or that machine. It also encourages
members to get a complete all over body workout - by not missing or skipping
machines. The circle format allows for socialization which also appeals to
women.
Each fluid resistance
machine works a specific part of the body. By careful specification of the
machines we are able to ensure that you work your arms, legs, tum and sense of
fun!
Recent research shows
that moderate levels of exercise intensity are the best way of keeping fit and
healthy. Our programme has been scientifically designed to provide all the
components of a complete exercise programme:
It's easy to do
You don't need to book
a class, just turn up, find an open spot and join in. You'll start by going at a
jogging pace to warm up. After several stations the pace can be increased until
you are going at full speed on the resistance machines. - Working each machine
as fast as possible, so you could not do another repetition. Then taking a rest
on the next station, allowing your heart rate to drop but staying in the aerobic
zone for fat burning! Then on to the next station, in no time at all your 30
minutes will be up and its time to cool down with some core stability work and
then stretch out.
Individual programme
The resistance machines used in the
Women's Workout circuit automatically adjust to your fitness capability. And we
teach you how to maintain your heart rate in the aerobic training zone, using
the cardio resting stations. This means that your assured of getting the correct
workout for your ability and fitness level.
Always a programme change
Our
programme changes each week, for two reasons. First if it's always the same you
could get bored, but more importantly your body will adjust to the exercise/work
it's asked to do. If this isn't changed then your body will stop adapting and
you can reach a plateau. By changing the time of the intervals, the position of
each machine and the machine resistance settings on a regular basis we stop this
from happening. We have so many combinations that your body is constantly being
challenged to respond.
Fun and Social
By arranging the circuit in a circle
members are encouraged to interact and have fun during their exercise programme.
It can be a great way to make friends.
Our staff are there to motivate not instruct and they do that by making sure
that you have a great time and want to come back for more.
How many times do I need to train?
Our government recommends that you get active 5 times a week. This could be in
the gym, or better still a combination of gym and activity with family/friends
at the weekend. Members who get the most from the gym tend to establish a
habit of dropping in after work or shopping or prior to the school run.
We are open from 9:00am to 7:30pm, Monday through Friday and 9:00Am to 12:00PM Saturday.
